Professor Sir Zahedi Knighted by the Prince of Wales

On Thursday 8th February 2018, Professor Sir Saeed Zahedi, OBE FREng RDI FIMechE PhD, Technical Director at Blatchford, was made a Knight Bachelor of the British Empire in recognition of his achievements.
Professor Sir Saeed Zahedi was knighted by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace for his outstanding services to Innovation and Engineering in the field of rehabilitation. Professor Zahedi is a multi-award winning author and presenter of over 125 papers, books and scientific publications, 35 patents and plays a leading role in a number of industry and professional regulatory bodies, particularly those pertaining to patient safety.
Professor Sir Saeed Zahedi’s advancements in prosthetics have changed the nature of prosthetic components. The development of the world’s first carbon fibre prosthetic system was created using materials developed for the aircraft industry. This technology promoted light, high strength designs that passed the new ISO standards for limb components, paving the way for the future development of flexible feet and shin components that allow energy return to enhance walking and sports activities.
Professor Zahedi has succeeded in creating outstanding and lasting results for many thousands of amputees around the world, giving them back the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest.
