Blatchford Awarded Wheelchair Services Contracts in Dudley and Tameside & Glossop

Blatchford is pleased to announce the success of its joint bid with lead provider Ross Care at 2 locations; Dudley along with Tameside & Glossop Wheelchair Services. The values shared by both organisations underpin a strong working relationship which result in a seamless integration of services for patients.

Both wheelchair services are focussed on improving the quality and safety of patient care. Combining Blatchford’s clinical experience and Ross Care’s local knowledge this will improve the service provided for patients at these clinics.

The contract at Dudley is for three years, starting in April 2017, during which Blatchford will provide clinical assessment and specialist seating, initially from Corbett Hospital in Stourbridge. Blatchford’s Business Development Manager Kay Purnell commented, “Blatchford is focussed on developing clinically effective, affordable wheelchair services.  The partnership with Ross Care enhances both organisation’s capabilities, allowing us to deliver a first class wheelchair service and help support Dudley service users in leading active and independent lives.” 

The Tameside and Glossop Wheelchair Service contract will start in April 2017, running for three years, throughout this time Blatchford will provide clinical assessment and specialist seating from a purpose-built clinic in Hyde, Cheshire.

As one of an increasing number of directly commissioned contracts, the new wheelchair service aims to provide essential mobility and, where needed, postural support to help patients lead a healthy, active and independent life.
