Prosthetic Knees

Prosthetic Knees Designed for All Levels of Lower Limb Amputees

Our award-winning range of products are designed to help individuals achieve the best possible mobility, function, comfort and long-term health after leg amputation or other pathology.

Mechanical, Hydraulic and Microprocessor Knees

MECHANICAL KNEES

Our mechanical knees are designed for all lower limb amputees; from those with limited mobility to amputees that are extremely active.

Locking and free option knees such as our ESK+ and BMK2

    • Weight activated stance control
    • Safe and smooth gait for moderately active Level K2-K4 wearers

Check out our hydraulic knee, the KX07 (as worn by Caro in the above photo)

      • Greater durability and enhanced resistance range
      • Easy to fine-tune
      • Water resistant for active users
      • Good for K3 wearers

MICROPROCESSOR-CONTROLLED KNEES

What is a microprocessor-controlled knee?

You may have heard the term "bionic knee", "computerized knee" or "Computer-controlled knee". These terms are synonymous with "microprocessor-controlled knee". This type of prosthetic knee contains more complex knee joints than a mechanical knee. They use a computer that offers safer walking with less effort.

Blatchford's microprocessor-controlled hydraulic knee, the Orion3 offers:

    • Exceptional stability on slopes, steps and varying terrains
    • Featuring a range of stance resistance
    • Adapts hydraulic resistance in real time, providing the user with confidence and stability

Blatchford's integrated microprocessor limb system, the Linx:

      • Mimics the complex structure of the human leg by actively sensing and analysing data on the user movement, activity and terrain

      • Provides a coordinated stream of instructions to the hydraulic support system

      • Detects stumble in real-time, automatically adjusting to allow the user to catch themselves to avoid a fall
